On 6 March 2025, H.E. Mr. Viacheslav Yatsiuk, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Rwanda, presented copies of his Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Olivier Nduhungirehe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda.
During a conversation after the ceremony of presenting the copies of the Letters of Credence, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Rwanda stressed the Ukrainian leadership's commitment to strengthening friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and Rwanda. He emphasized that the Government of Ukraine highly values Rwanda's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe, in his turn, stressed that Rwanda supports the efforts of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to ensure comprehensive deepening of the relations between Ukraine and Rwanda and welcomed the start of the diplomatic mission of the first Ambassador of Ukraine to Rwanda, residing in Kigali. He endorsed the proposed priority steps designed to stimulate the bilateral political dialogue and enhance the economic and humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and Rwanda.
Ambassador Viacheslav Yatsiuk and Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe also exchanged views regarding the prospects for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine and the importance of achieving a lasting and just peace.
