Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga: "Despite all efforts to end the war, Russia carried out a large-scale combined air strike on Ukraine overnight. Hundreds of drones, hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles were aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure. One of the missiles hit a large American electronics factory in our westernmost region, causing serious damage and casualties. This is a completely civilian facility that has nothing to do with defense or the military. This is not the first Russian attack on American enterprises in Ukraine, after the strikes on Boeing offices in Kyiv earlier this year and other attacks. No military logic or necessity, just terror against civilians, businesses and normal life in our country. That is why efforts to force Russia to end the war are so important, and we reaffirm Ukraine's readiness to make every effort to bring peace closer. Leaders' meetings in the bilateral Ukraine-Russia format and the trilateral Ukraine-US-Russia format are critical for diplomacy to work. Equally important is the work to provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees from partners, including the US and European allies. The night strikes also demonstrate the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses with additional systems and interceptors."
